Hi all. I was just wondering if you can be online while you are scanning your computer for viruses. I notice that when I run avg antimalware and I'm online or on messenger it tends to slow down the scan. Is this noormal?

It's probably because it's trying to scann the files related to messenger while you are using it.

The machine as you pointed out will run slower and it will feel sluggish. I usually try not to do much when a scan is taking place or stop the scan and restart it when I am finished.

It's going to slow down the machine. I can do both at one time, but I usually try to scan my PC at a time when I don't need to be online.
